DODGEBALL: the New Sport
Dodgeball is now a recognised sport. On 27th August 2008, exactly four years after the release of the hilarious hit movie, ‘DODGEBALL: a true underdog story’, the four Home Country Sports Councils awarded dodgeball status as a recognised sport.

Media Charity Dodgeball Event
The second of two charity dodgeball tournaments in the Autumn takes place in Birmingham in Oct. or Nov. Details of the Mail on Sunday’s charity event on 04/09/2008 can be found by clicking here.
Maverick TV, makers of shows for Channel 4 such as ‘How to Look Good Naked’ and ‘10 Years Younger’, are organising a Media Charity Dodgeball Tournament for the TV and Radio companies in the West Midlands. The fundraiser has been postponed from 20th Septmenber, but will still be held at University of Birmingham’s Munrow Sports Centre; Heart FM’s Ed James is hosting the event. UKDBA helpers are wanted to officiate the tournament; food and drink will be provided for volunteers.

RYAN BREAKS 60
Ryan Knight broke the 60 mph barrier on Sunday, 15th June, to become the UK’s fastest dodgeball thrower, recording a 62 m.p.h. throw. Three weeks later, Chris Townsend became the second player to make a 60 m.p.h. throw, to make No. 2 in the UK’s Fastest throw chart. Click here to see Fastest Thrower Top 10.
JAMMY DODGERS BRITISH CHAMPIONS 2008

JAMMY DODGERS were crowned as British Champions 2008 on Sunday 20th April. They battled through three tough matches to reach the Final, where they overpowered Leeds Met Carnegie II to lift the cup.
