Disabled Players

Any player, with any form of disability should inform the event organiser/coordinator of any special requirements they have, prior to taking part in the event in which they intend to participate.

UKDBA and UKDBA Officials will do everything possible to ensure that all players are able to take part in all UKDBA authorised events.

Tournament Regulations

1. Except where provided for in these rules the laws of association Dodgeball shall apply. General UKDBA Rules of Dodgeball can be viewed on our website www.ukbda.org

2. It is the responsibility of the team captain / manager to ensure all club players are aware of all UKDBA rules and regulations associated with the competition.

3. Teams must complete the conditions of entry sheet to register into a tournament.

4. Teams must pay the entry fee by the closing date, as stated on the entry form.

5. Upon registration to the tournament all teams will be affiliated to the UKDBA.

6. It is the responsibility of team captains to ensure that their team is ready to play matches at the scheduled times.

7. The competition will follow a league basis. Knockout basis, or a combination of these formats as determined by the tournament organisers. In league/group stages three points will be awarded for a win. 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Teams will be placed in league/group stages in order of points.

8. Teams shall be placed within groups/divisions as determined by the tournament organizers.

9. We will issue a full tournament schedule prior to the date of the tournament. If there are queries call us at the office for clarification.

10. Teams must pay the appropriate entry fee to the on site coordinator by cheque or to the office prior to the date of the competition, as instructed by the entry regulations

11. Cheques should be made payable to UKDBA, a charge of £10 will be issued to any person whose cheque is returned by our bank unpaid, to cover costs.

12. Teams shall keep a register of playing members and those who have actually played. The information must be produced to the UKDBA Officials within 7 days of any request for it.

13. There is no limit to the amount of players you are permitted in your squad provided we have their details on the team sheet. Awards will however be limited to 10 per qualifying team.

14. Teams will be 6 a side. Unless otherwise specified.

15. Each team must provide two referees and a scorer/line judge to officiate at least one match that they are not playing. One player will referee one team, the other player will referee the other team and keep the stopwatch and the scorer will keep the score and officiate the Dead Zone. The coordinators will give help accordingly.

16. The team must arrive fifteen minutes before their game commences, so that you are ready to start on time and we can also settle your entry fees, if required.

17. Players must wear appropriate footwear i.e. non-marking trainers.

18. All competitions will run under the jurisdiction of the UKDBA. Players should be aware that cautionable offences may result in fines and bans from any competition run by InterDodgeball and the UKDBA.

19. A team may only change their name once they have been sanctioned and if UKDBA agree to this.

20. Games will be played in a public area. Hence the highest standards of behavior are expected from all participants. All participants are expected to show appropriate respect and courtesy towards opponents, teammates and officials alike. Failure to adhere to this rule may lead to a caution or sending off.

21. Taunting will result in a player or team warning for the first offence. The second offence by a team results in the forfeit of the game. Repeated offences will cause the match to be forfeited by the offending team. UKDBA promotes equality and fairness and does not tolerate taunting in any form.

22. Foul language, poor sportsmanship or continued questioning of the officials judgement will result in the game currently being played to be forfeited by the offending team. The match continues if games remain with the offending team playing with 5 players for the remainder of the match. The player who is sent off shall not be allowed to take any further part in the competition on that day and will receive a ban from further UKDBA competitions, as decided by the UKDBA committee.

23. A £10 fine will accompany each sending-off/ejection offence.

24. No substitute is allowed for a player dismissed for misconduct during the game in which the offence occurred.

25. Any fighting will result in the immediate disqualification from all of UKDBA competitions for all the people involved. This may also result in the removal of whole teams.

26. Any UKDBA official, or coordinator, can act as an official and can report any incident on or off the court to the competition organisers. Such reports can lead to fines or bans.

27. All appeals / grievances regarding league or cup competitions must be made in writing to UKDBA within 5 days of the incident.

28. In the unlikely event your opposition doesn’t turn up we will always try to arrange a friendly.

29. Should the appointed referee fail to appear for a fixture then UKDBA will arrange for a suitable replacement to officiate the game at short notice.

30. Teams can have up to 2 guest players as long as the referee & opposing team agrees before the start of the game and the referee doesn’t feel the games outcome will be dramatically altered. Teams may not use guest players as substitutes.

31. If a guest player is disciplined during the game then the team manager is still liable for any fine imposed.

32. First Aid is not provided by the UKDBA. Teams should make their own first aid provisions.

33. If in the event of an ambulance being called and a subsequent charge being made by the ambulance service then you and your team shall be liable for that cost

34. In the event of a team withdrawing from the tournament, a replacement will be found as quickly as possible and will inherit the previous team’s points and game difference. Should a replacement not be found fixtures will be altered accordingly.

35. Any team who pulls out of the competition or is ejected before or during the completion will not be owed any monies by way of a refund for their remaining fixtures.

36. In the event of fees being outstanding from other competitions organised by the UKDBA and unpaid, UKDBA reserves the right to charge statutory interest.

37. Trophies will not be awarded to any qualifying team who has not cleared any arrears before the competition commences.

38. UKDBA reserves the right to prohibit any player or team from participating in any game arranged by us. Failure to adhere to any of the rules may lead to such prohibition.

39. UKDBA accepts no responsibility for the loss of or damage to any property belonging to teams or any other person. Personal possessions in changing rooms or courtside are left entirely at owners’ own risk.

40. Parking - Users of the parking facilities at a venue should position their vehicles in such a manner as to allow adequate access for emergency services. Vehicles should be parked in an orderly fashion and not in a way that causes annoyance or inconvenience to the occupiers of any private property. In particular vehicles should not be parked on grassed areas adjacent to designated parking areas or entrances.

41. UKDBA accepts no responsibility for the loss of or damage to vehicles. Parked vehicles whether in a designated parking area or not are left entirely at the drivers/owners own risk.

42. Teams must have their own comprehensive personal accident and public liability insurance in place for each of its players. Copies of such policies must be produced to UKDBA representatives if requested

43. Indemnity and insurance – The teams shall indemnify the UKDBA against all damage to the premises or to the property in or on the premises and all claims in respect of personal injury (including injury resulting in death) or loss of or damage to property arising out of the negligent use of the premises or anything done permitted or omitted in the course of or as a consequence of such negligent use.

44. The team shall effect and maintain adequate insurance cover in respect of the above obligation and must produce satisfactory evidence of such cover to the UKDBA on request.

45. The competition organisers reserve the right to alter any rule at any time. All teams will be notified of any changes.

RULES OF PLAY

The rules are in place for your safety and ours. We consider the rules as basic as they can be, but also fair. At all times you must adhere to the rules.

46. Substitutions can be made after every game.

47. The matches will be held over a 15-minute time slot with games starting according to the fixture list. Any team not ready within two minutes of the published start time will forfeit the first game and play the remainder of the games to complete the full fixture. Any team not present at the venue within 2 minutes of their scheduled stat time will forfeit the match 7-0.

48. All competitions will run under the jurisdiction of the UKDBA. Players should be aware that cautionable offences may result in fines and bans from any competition recognised by the UKDBA.

49. The referee’s decision is final.

50. Variations in the facilities at venues may lead to slight variations in these rules. Therefore UKDBA reserves the right to alter any rule at any time. Teams will be notified of any changes.
