_______________________________
Coming from a background of County Cricket and sports development with the county of Hertfordshire I joined the UKDBA as a development officer in 2009 and was subsequently appointed Chairman and CEO in 2010. My role encompasses a wide range of activities but more subsequently building lasting partnerships with key bodies in sport such as Sport England, the EFDS, the Youth Sport Trust, UK Sport and Sports Coach UK. As the CEO of the UKDBA I also oversee the board of directors and ensure that the organisation is always making positive steps (big or small) towards the continued development of our sport on a local, national and international level.

________________________________
I have been involved in the UKDBA since 2008, formerly Vice Captain at Leeds Met Carnegie and 2007 UK Champions I have seen the sport develop from its very beginning through to our present NGB status. Currently I work on National projects including Matalan Your Activity, Matalan Sporting Communities, School Games, Dodgeball Young Leaders, Mini Leaders and support club and community development. I also introduce Dodgeball to our priority areas by developing links with local stakeholders in order to create new opportunities for coaches, players and enthusiasts to get more involved in the sport in their local communities. Last year over 300 secondary schools were introduced to Dodgeball and are now playing on a regular basis. I aim to improve on this figure and create more regular pathways into clubs and competition for players of all ages and abilities.

________________________________
I have been involved with dodgeball since November 2005, when I started a team from my place of work. I started a local league in my home town and I was soon asked to take over running leagues in other nearby towns, by the people who set them up. The UKDBA had already been founded in name but it was not until I called the first meeting in March 2007 that a committee was elected and it started to truly operate as an NGB.
I am the Director of Competitions, which means that my role is predominantly the running and organising of adult dodgeball competitions and the training of referees. Over the last five years adult dodgeball has developed from a few local leagues to a schedule of regular tournaments around the country and there is now a Premier League and a Two Division National League for the top level teams.
More development is planned and the adult competitive structure will continue to strengthen.

National Disability Manager
Niki Stanton
niki.stanton@ukdba.org
Niki tried a number of sports at a young age and went on to be a successful sports coach before she attained a sports injury herself playing Squash and was unable to continue to coach as an able-bodied athlete. Niki joined a Wheelchair Basketball club to further her experiences within sport, when she was told she wouldn't walk again without use of either a Cane or Wheelchair. Within 6 months of taking up Wheelchair Basketball, she was selected to represent Great Britain in both European & World Championships. After experiencing Wheelchair Basketball at this level, Niki fell in love with the sport and knew that this would be her chosen sport, which culminated in her being selected to represent Great Britain in 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games.
Since Niki's retirement from International & National Basketball, she has attained a wealth of knowledge in disability sport and has now turned her attention to promoting UKDBA Dodgeball with NGB Status as a Sport for All, and we are pleased to announce Niki is to become our new National Disability Manager, who will be working to promote and set up Dodgeball as truely an Inclusive Sport for All with SEND host providers across the country.
Having played Dodgeball in her Wheelchair and seen for herself just how Inclusive Dodgeball can be, Niki is excited to get out into the field to share & Inspire others to join in and play.
So what ya waiting for....contact Niki today to help inspire the next Dodgeball generation and raise its status to become a future Paralympic event!!

My role is centred around the UKDBA's 'Launch Into Dodgeball' Programme.
